Dan Zimmerman – Newly Appointed Building Safety Evaluator
Dan Zimmerman, Architect & Partner of Alloy Workshop, spent a Saturday in Norfolk, Virginia attending Post-disaster Safety-Assessment Program (SAP) training. The training is essential for those living in natural disaster-prone areas. Since we have seen an increase in hurricane activity over the past few years, this class provides the knowledge needed when neighborhoods and homes are affected and ravaged by a massive storm. Volunteer architects can relieve some of the logjam that occurs during an event where emergency management and city departments are pushed beyond their capacity. Each attendee earned a Cal-OES registration ID card and are newly certified building safety evaluators.
