About Alloy
Back in 2006, Dan Zimmerman and Zach Snider were working independently in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dan’s business, Zimmerman Design | Build and Zach’s Irons Construction started helping one another on projects; there was some synchronicity there. They both were interested in growing a business, with different yet complimentary skill sets, and a shared vision. Alloy was launched officially on the first day of 2007 with two employees and a small pickup truck. Alloy has been on the way up every since…and we still have that old pickup.
Today, the Alloy Workshop Architecture and Construction Teams come together to create a one-stop integration of architecture and construction, making it a seamless and exceptional design build process.
Our Mission
To create beautiful, livable, and durable structures, while providing a valuable and enjoyable client experience.
To cultivate a meaningful workplace and a healthy business.
To contribute to the health of our community.

What Our Clients Say
What Our Clients Say
“Alloy Workshop transformed our screened porch into a vaulted ceiling family room. The quality of construction is very good and has held up well of the last year. We really like that on our 1949 house, the new room is matches the style of the house very nicely but is modern at the same time…that’s hard to pull off. One of the big differences between Alloy and other builders is the quality of their staff. These guys are well spoken, clean, mannered, and trustworthy. I never hesitated to give them a key to the house.”
