Wednesday October 10th Alloy’s Zach Snider sustained the first industrial accident for the company. While framing the master bathroom in the 716 Monticello rd addition Zach accidentally fired a framing nail into his leg with a nail gun. The nail suck firmly into his Femur and pined his leg into a bent position. Galin Boyd was on site with Zach and promptly called an ambulance. The rescue crew arrived and executed a technical rescue lowering Zach through the second story window to the waiting ambulance. In the UVA Emergency Room the injury was x-rayed, assessed, and the nail was forcibly yanked free by a heroic orthopedic resident with a pair of pliers. Some hours later Zach was back on his feet with and on the mend.
When asked if the injury would affect his preformance at the National Ultimate tradesman Challenge on November 11th Snider replied “I don’t think it will, this is all part of being an Industrial Athlete. I always knew that I would shoot myself with the nail gun sometime, it is just a matter of probability.” Zach should be back to field work next week.
