| Saint Charles Court Bathroom Renovation
PROJECT: Architecture & Construction
DESCRIPTION: Residential Renovation
The client for this project was living with a half-finished master bathroom for over a year. The client had previously purchased many of the fixtures for the project and much of the plumbing had already been roughed in, so starting over was not an option. Our design team worked creatively within the constraints of an unusual existing condition to create an integrated and inviting space. The bathroom is a sanctuary for the client. It features a trapezoidal wet zone that contains a rain shower and a soaking tub with a sculptural surround. The toilet area is visually separated from the tub by a niche wall that is used to artfully store items for everyday use. In contrast to many contemporary bathing spaces, the design of this project embraces warm colors and richly textured surfaces. Bumpy penny tiles contrast with the smooth finish of the tub and shower. The warm dark wood of the vanity references the cedar niche wall, both featuring warm hued marble accents.
