Alloy Workshop | Design Build Charlottesville | Logo Icon | Foxbrook Lane Bathroom, Laundry Room & Mud Room Remodel

PROJECT: Architecture & Construction
DESCRIPTION: Residential Remodel

These clients were a perfect fit with Alloy: an active and engaged family who loves the outdoors wanted a few quality of life as well as contemporary aesthetic updates to their bathrooms and mudroom. With this in mind, we designed a master plan to improve usefulness and livability, considering both what they wished to construct immediately, and what they could see through in the future.

The hall bathroom for the kids needed to support more than one person at a time, so the sinks were separated from the shower and toilet. The finishes were also updated and refined, bringing a cleaner look to a busy space. Moving downstairs, the mudroom – a highly trafficked area yet the least glamorous – was split in a similar way. The laundry room, half bath and entry received separate spaces, yet this allowed smoother access between backyard, garage, and family room. Light wood paneling and white finishes make the compact mudroom feel large, while the durable dark tile floor serves a practical need in masking the heavy usage.
