DESCRIPTION: Residential New Home
This custom home is still on the drawing board waiting for the best time for our client to build.
The lot allowed for many options for siting the house on the seven acre undeveloped lot. As with all of our custom homes, we considered much more than how to capture the best views. Our clients want the home to be shielded from the road and from the neighbors but to also be wide open to the beauty of their lot.
One of our approaches to meeting these goals was a study of the position of the sun in different seasons and times of day. Based on this, we oriented and designed the house for the best views and for passive heating and cooling.
The design also resolves the clients’ concerns about aging-in-place. We planned for accessibility, expandability, and a floor plan that can be repurposed for changing needs.
