Alloy Architecture & Construction is actively seeking a creative problem solver with drive and dedication. As a team, our goal is to provide clients with a positive experience as we work together to design and build thoughtful and beautiful spaces.

As an intern or registered architect at Alloy your tasks will be diverse. They will require attention to detail, a high level of organization, a warm personality, excellent computer skills, a willingness to learn and an “all for one, one for all” mindset.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited architectural program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working for an architectural firm.
  • Proficiency with Archicad and Sketchup.
  • Experience producing construction documents.
  • Confidence and talent in design.
  • Ability to produce design iterations quickly and explain them clearly.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Ability to take your work seriously without having to take yourself seriously.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Review project program, design proposal and completed client questionnaire.

Site, Environmental & Code Analysis

  • Site visit(s) to measure and photograph existing conditions. Create an existing conditions digital model and as-built drawing set.
  • Evaluate and review local, state and federal codes, regulations and zoning requirements.

Design & Documentation

  • Develop floor plan options and initial spatial/elevation sketches. Create documents for all phases of the design process: sketch, build and refine 3D models, create and revise drawing sets and create presentation drawings.
  • Creation of a complete drawing set for obtaining a building permit and pricing.

Materials and Products Research

  • Assist in material and fixture selections and specifications.
  • Specify materials and products based on client’s budget and needs.
  • Research new construction methods and materials.

Building Cost Analysis

  • Meet with lead estimator to identify scope of work, budget items and allowance items.

Construction Administration and Support

  • Assist carpenters by clarifying drawings and details and conducting periodic site visits.
  • Review material orders (windows, cabinet, etc).
  • Prepare/review shop drawings and construction details.

Client Relations

  • Attend and record meetings with Principal and Client.
  • Answer questions regarding project details and maintain communications with Clients.

General Office

  • Attend and participate in weekly Architecture team and monthly company meetings.
  • Maintain an organized work space.
